Static QR vs dynamic QR: which one should you use?

Static QR codes are best when the destination will not change
A static QR code stores the final destination directly in the code. That makes it a strong fit for stable links, simple landing pages, contact cards and basic print materials where the URL will stay the same.
For flyers, packaging, stickers and other printed assets, static QR codes are often the simplest choice because there is no extra redirect layer to manage. If the link is permanent and tracking is not a priority, a static code is usually enough.
Dynamic QR codes are better when you need tracking or later edits
A dynamic QR code points to a short redirect URL, which lets you change the final destination later without replacing every printed asset. That is the safer choice for campaigns that may evolve after launch.
Dynamic QR codes are also easier to use when you want scan tracking, campaign measurement or different destinations for different audiences. If you plan to add UTM parameters, test multiple landing pages or update the target after printing, dynamic is the better fit.
